We Handle Both Contested and Uncontested Divorce Matters
Whether a dissolution matter is contested or uncontested-settled between the parties or decided by the Court- the Court must examine the facts of each case against the law to determine the fairness of any final Decree. Because of this, full disclosure is required, either informally by mutual exchange between the parties or more formally through the discovery process, including Interrogatories, Depositions, and Subpoenas, if necessary. Of course, other issues of a more personal nature beyond financial data alone often come into play in family law matters, particularly when children are involved. At the Law Offices of Richard D. Goff, we know that it is important to analyze the whole picture, including the unique needs of each our clients. We are committed to building an effective legal strategy to best help our clients achieve their goals following the dissolution process.

The Paths of Divorce
There are essentially two paths a divorce can take: contested and uncontested.
We encourage our clients to follow the uncontested path whenever possible. Not only does this path tend to be less expensive, it is often less stressful and less time-consuming. It can be very effective, as it puts the outcome in the hands of the client, rather than in the hands of a judge.
Of course, our attorneys have been handling divorce long enough to know that settlement is not always realistic and that some disputes may need to be resolved through litigation, following the contested path. Our family law trial experience is extensive, and we have the ability to effectively present our client's issues to the Court for a decision if necessary.
