Making Certain That Divorce Orders are Followed
Unfortunately, the Court's entry of a final and enforceable Order does not always put an end to the litigation process, as it should.
We at the Law Offices of Richard D. Goff know the law and we know the options available to help people to enforce an Order in the event that the other party is not paying support or is otherwise failing to follow the Court's directives.
We have more than 45 years of experience handling divorce and such related enforcement matters. Contact us today.
Enforcement is a Challenging Matter
If child custody, child support or spousal maintenance orders are not being followed, the issue is immediate. Our first step is to resolve the matter in the most efficient way possible, by contacting the other party directly and trying to reach an agreement moving forward.
Unfortunately, that is not always possible short of court intervention. If all else fails, we will not hesitate to file a contempt motion seeking all available consequences for the violations, such as revocation of the non-compliant party's driver's or professional licenses or entry of judgment against them.
On the other hand, if it is our client that is in non-compliance, particularly because a job loss or other significant change in circumstance, we will review the matter to determine whether seeking modification of the Court’s Order may be an appropriate solution.
Enforcement of Child Support
Raising a child can be costly, and missed child support payments can cause significant problems. We act quickly in these cases to ensure compliance with the Court's order. In some cases, we may refer certain individuals to the Court's own low-cost child support collection agency, with its built-in powers of license suspension and judgment entry. Either way, we will do whatever is possible to make sure that our clients receive the support to which they are entitled.
